Spurs fans who booed goalkeeper Vicario were informed afterwards "they cannot be real Spurs fans" by manager Frank.

Spurs conceded a pair of scores in the opening initial moments to fall 2-1 to Fulham, registering their 10th top-flight at home loss of the year.

However the primary talking point was Fulham's next score when the keeper gave away possession far beyond his area.

He came out to handle a long ball and took the ball towards the sideline.

But, instead of kicking it out of play, the Italy international turned and tried to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Wilson and was controlled by King.

King laid the ball off to Welsh midfield player Harry Wilson, who bent a shot into the goal from the sideline recorded at 36.6 metres.

Seconds later when the ball went to the keeper again, some Spurs supporters booed him.

The team were booed off at the interval, with the club 2-0 down, and again at full-time.

A particular of those booing sessions truly angered the manager.

"I heard some of our fans apparently jeered the situation and booed following, which, in my opinion is completely unjustifiable," the Dane commented about the fans' response to his goalkeeper.

"[They] cannot be real Tottenham supporters that act that way. Fair enough booing after the game, fine, but when we are in play, we are supporting one another, we are with each other moving ahead."

Tete had given Fulham a early advantage prior to Harry Wilson's strike – with Kudus netting for Spurs in an improved second-half showing.

Ex- top-flight keeper Joe Hart stated that the next score was "totally preventable".

"I certainly appreciate the supporters' frustration," Hart continued. "I am aware the role the keeper is performing. He's a great team player, he's a real figure in the dressing room but ultimately you are going to be judged by your actions.

"He was deeply involved in what ended up to be the winning score."

'It is Part of Football, I Can Handle It'

Italian national team the keeper is in his third season with Spurs.

The 29-year-old stated following the match that he had to take the criticism.

"That goal was a error of mine, I accept accountability for that," he said.

"My aim was to kick the ball long and I just struck the ball in a bad manner. It was an even bigger challenge to overcome."

He said receiving jeers "comes with football".

"I am mature, how can I respond?" he added. "We can't be affected by the situation in the crowd. Supporters have the right to do what they think.

"It is on the team to stay more calm, to concentrate on our own performance. We are lacking in composure and poise to reverse outcomes. This match is a poor loss and it's tough to take."

'It Shocked Me No One Went Back to the Line'

In spite of the keeper's error, it was far from an easy score for Wilson to score.

Actually it was the next longest-range top division goal of the season – after Adams' forty-three point three yard strike for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally also occurred on Saturday.

The goalscorer said he was "somewhat taken aback" that he still had an empty net to target.

Ten seconds elapsed between Vicario coming out of his area and Wilson shooting – which was five seconds after the kick.

"It seemed to me like the keeper was away from the area for ages," he said.

"I was surprised none of the defenders went back to the goal line. When none of them covered the goal, my interest sparked a bit.

"[Destiny] Udogie slipped as well, which gave me a bit of additional opportunity. After that it was all about trying to make the right contact and place it towards goal. I had a positive sense, as soon as it left my foot, that it was heading in."

'When You're in a Bad Spell, All Appears to Work Against You'

While Vicario's error dominated coverage, this was an all-round bad performance for Tottenham to continue their home struggles.

This was their tenth at home loss of the year in the league, a shared team record matching 1994 and two thousand and three.

They still have home games against Frank's old side the Bees and champions Liverpool to come prior to the end of the year.

Only one of those wins have come after the manager replaced his predecessor in the off-season.

"If you are down 2-0 following six minutes, there is a mountain to overcome," said the boss.

"When you're in a poor run, all aspects appears to work against you as well – the opening was a deflected attempt, the second is a error from Vic.

"This result puts us in a place where we have suffered another game. Each fixture has a unique story, today we were defeated in the early stages.

"We just need to continue striving. The later period was significantly improved and with luck something we can utilize to develop."

Tottenham have been defeated in 4 consecutive at home capital clashes for the initial time in the Premier League.

And they are averaging 9.5 shots and three point two efforts on goal per match in the division – their poorest averages on record in a one campaign (since at least 2003-04).

Ex- Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy commented that the manager has to ride the storm.

"He must accept the criticism," the pundit remarked. "He's accepted a prestigious job at a huge team with enormous anticipation. There is scrutiny and duty that accompanies that.
